Why is it inherently important to use only the ME 30-100.2-ECO Coolant?
Since a welding or cutting system is not of little value and every user is interested in doing its work for a long time without great expense, the use of the right Coolant is of extreme importance.
The use of the Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO ensures that the high level of corrosion protection it contains optimally protects all important components, especially the susceptible non-ferrous heavy metals used in welding and cutting systems.
Why is the use of a proper Coolant especially in a TIG area of highest importance?
Especially for the operational lifetime of a TIG-torch it is very important which Coolant is used. Perfect ignition requires a very low conductivity combined with an optimally balanced pH value of 7.8. This is the case with the Merkle Coolant. You will undoubtedly achieve an increase in quality using our Coolant, especially in the TIG area.
Coolant with a pH value of less than 6 is considered to be acidic and aggressive and thus primarily destroys components in the pump and in the torch. A direct consequence of this are necessary repairs, therefore we strongly recommend only the use of our Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO.
What does the water pump have to do with the Coolant?
The operational lifetime depends to a large extend on which Coolant is used. Using a wrong Coolant will cause damage to the seal and shaft in a very short time. A leaking water pump leads to failures of the welding or cutting system, which leads to downtimes and expensive repairing charges.
During the development and production of the Merkle Coolant, we took into account the corrosion properties of the materials that are installed in a water pump. To avoid expensive repairing charges you should therefore use only the Merkle Coolant.
How do I use the Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO for the first time?
- Completely drain the old Coolant from the tank
- Make sure that the torch hoses are also emptied
- Then rinse the entire cooling circuit 2 times with Demera- or DI-Water*
- Make sure that the deposits, often on the ground of the radiator are also completely removed.
- Only then fill the radiator with new Merkle Coolant
Please take care in the future that no other Coolant is filled, refilled or mixed. Also avoid the use of normal tap water or other water e.g. distilled water, otherwise the advantages and special characteristics of our Coolant are lost.
*DI-Water = Deionised water, (Demineralised water) is specially purified water that has had most or all of its mineral and salt ions removed. Certain processes or applications require so-called ultrapure water, where certain and high specifications for the purity must be given.
What is the flash point of the Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO?
According to the legal requirements, a specification of a flash- or ignition point for our Coolant is not required. This is an extremely great advantage for storage and transport.
For what reasons is the conductivity in the conductance important?
The more containments are in the Coolant, the higher the conductance. This creates an aggressive water that reacts negatively to the copper strand of the power-water cable and to the brass parts in the water pump.
For this reason, the conductance in a Coolant should not be higher than max. 150 microsiemens, in the TIG range is even a max. conductance of 100 microsiemens recommended.
The Merkle Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO is ideal because it has a conductance of less than 25 microsiemens and thus does not attack the power-water cable or the water pump.
Is there a labeling requirement for transporting as hazardous items?
Again, due to the composition of our Coolant ME30-100.2-ECO, no labelling is required for a transport. This includes all transport requirements worldwide e.g. ADR – AND – IMDG – etc.
Is the Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO harmful?
Also applies to this point that due to the composition there is no health risk according to EG Verordnung 1272/2008 CLP.
What is the frost protection for the Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO?
The frost protection of our Coolant goes up to – 30°C.
Is the Coolant ME 30-100.2-ECO biodegradable?
Our Coolant is biodegradable according to the OECD regulations, which puts us a good step ahead of the competition in terms of environmental protection and already fulfils values that are not yet required by law.
